I spent January through March this year in the City of Angels. While I didn’t get a starring role or a killer recording contract, I did fall in love with good coffee. Having spent my college years in Dallas, I was already all about the local coffee scene. But moving out to the West Coast had me falling for a new kind of roast.
The Wheelhouse in DTLA – From their expansive parking lot (a rare find in LA) to their wall of bicycles, it will be one destination you won’t forget. Always make your coffee fancy too.
Alfred Coffee in Silverlake – When you want quite arguably the best cup of coffee in LA, head here. While their WEHO location is full of screenwriters, celebs (hey Kendall and Gigi) and lots of cool ivy, I prefer their Silverlake location. From their wall of mustaches to the friendly locals, just make sure you get the bacon-chive scone.
Go Get Em Tiger on Larchmont – When you want some heart-racing espresso and some avocado toast set your Google Maps to here. Set up like an actual bar, the warm smiles and family-friendly atmosphere give you a break from that LA hustle.
Blue Bottle Coffee in Venice – When it’s a Sunday night, you’d find me strolling along Abbot Kinney in Venice Beach with a cup of their coffee in hand. Even if you hit up the coolest street in LA without making your wallet cry from Rag & Bone or Aviator Nation, grab an iced latte and take a picture of those palm trees in ocean breeze.
Two Guns Espresso in DTLA – Their coffee will have you LIT. Yep, that’s right LIT. Located right in the financial district of DTLA, this coffee stand is one of LA’s best kept secrets.
