the BOOK list

A month out of undergrad, I finally found the time to start reading again. Whether you need a new book to read while you sip on that iced latte or a book for your next flight, check out 10 of my favorite books:

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro // The novel that was transformed into my favorite film. You’ll be enchanted, curious, and fascinated with every page.

Looking for Alaska by John Green // Although I read the novel 10 years ago, Green’s prose still stands as my favorite book to this day. Heart-breaking, honest, and unforgettable.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald // If you haven’t read the book, head to the bookstore and pick up a COPY NOW. While the recent film adaption is grand, nothing can compare to the original book.

The Scarlett Letter by Nathaniel Hawthrone // Like Marfa, Texas. Hard to describe but once you read it, you get it.

Beloved by Toni Morrison // Just wow. I normally don’t re-read books, but I read this one two times, back to back.

Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler // Written after Handler finished his beloved series, “The Series of Unfortunate Events.” This illustrated work is purely captivating. Be prepared to shed a tear, or a hundred.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson // Just bad-ass and awesome.

Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi // One relevant read, you won’t ever forget. Satrapi’s work is powerful, raw, and provoking.

Fates & Furies by Lauren Groff // READ THIS BOOK. Poetic, dark, yet simply wonderful.

Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham // You won’t stop laughing and you’ll read it so fast you’ll come back to this list to find your next book.
